On Tuesday, Sept. 27, the University of Maryland Police Department was advised of an off-campus incident that happened the previous day in the 8100 block of Baltimore Avenue, officials said in an alert to the community on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
The victim of the assault reported to the Prince George’s County Police Department that he was outside a business in the area when he got into an argument with an unknown suspect.
During the argument, it is alleged that the suspect pointed a handgun toward the victim and then left the area in a vehicle.
No injuries were reported during the incident, which remains under investigation by the Prince George's County Police Department.
The latest incident comes on the heels of reported bedroom burglaries off-campus.
Anyone with information regarding the off-campus assault at the University of Maryland or the suspect has been asked to contact investigators at the Prince George’s County Police Department by calling (301) 352-1200 or 911.
